Badly Drawn Boy album 'affected by writer's block'
Badly Drawn Boy has revealed that being exiled from his kitchen led to writer's block during the making of his new album.
Released on Monday (October 4th), the record is entitled It's What I'm Thinking: Part 1 - Photographing Snowflakes and represents the Manchester-based artist's first studio effort since 2006's Born in the UK.
In comments reported by Contact Music, he said the writing process was temporarily hindered by home renovations and a lack of access to the room in which he usually creates songs.
"I had a lot of work done on the house, particularly the kitchen," the singer, real name Damon Gough, told the Channel Five show Live From Studio Five.
"That's where I write, in the kitchen, so it really halted me for a bit, knocked me out of stride for a bit."
Gough is set to play a string of UK dates this month, including two nights at London's Bloomsbury Theatre, before his European tour gets underway in November.
