Cast Revealed For Upcoming Stage Adaptation of the 2003 Will Ferrell Film

In the last few weeks it has been revealed that the latest film-turned-stage musical to find itself in the West End will be the hugely popular Elf, immortalised by Will Ferrell in the 2003 film, and that it would be heading to the Dominion Theatre for a short Christmas run.

Now more news has emerged regarding the production, with Ben Forster taking on Ferrell’s film role of Buddy whilst Kimberley Walsh plays the character of Jovie and Jessica Martin plays Emily. Meanwhile, Joe McGann is a part of the productions as Walter, Mark McKerracher plays Santa and Graham Lappin appears in the role of a Store Manager.

Elf introduces us to Buddy, a human who lives amongst Santa’s elves. He isn’t aware of his human origins, assuming that he is an Elf just like the others, but he in fact stowed away in Santa’s sleigh when he was a child and has since lived his life in the North Pole. However, when he hears the news he decides to set off on a journey to New York City to find his real father. The result is a story of human and Christmas spirit, with plenty of fish-out-water comedy to make this a memorable time at the theatre.

Ben Forster has appeared in a host of west end shows during his career, particularly following his win on the ITV talent series Superstar, which earned him the title role in a touring production of Jesus Christ Superstar. Beyond that, he has appeared in Thriller Live, plus The Rocky Horror Show on tour and Evita at the Dominion Theatre.

Forster previously played Buddy when the show appeared in other locations in the United Kingdom prior to its West End arrival.

In addition to Elf The Musical, the West End also welcomes other stage adaptations of films this year, including Kinky Boots at the Adelphi Theatre, whilst classics such as Billy Elliot The Musical continue to pull in crowds.

Elf The Musical is set to run at the Dominion Theatre from Thursday 5th November 2015 (with previews from Saturday 24th October 2015) until Saturday 2nd January 2016.
