Bill Ward announced for Million Dollar Quartet show
Bill Ward has been announced as one of the stars of the new production of the Million Dollar Quartet show in London.
The former Coronation Street star is set to take to the stage as Sam Phillips in the production, which is sure to have people with London theatre tickets dancing in the aisles to some of Sun Records most famous hits.
Founder of the iconic record label, Phillips was the man behind signing up Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnny Cash and Carl Perkins and who brought the four together for one of the most famous musical recordings of all time.
Ward, who played Charlie Stubbs in the Manchester soap, is the first member of the cast to be announced for the Eric Schaeffer-directed UK production.
Opening at the Noel Coward Theatre on February 28th 2011, the show features hits including Blue Suede Shoes, I Walk the Line and Great Balls of Fire.
