Blythe Spirit 'a great opportunity' for Ruthie Henshaw
Performing in Blythe Spirit has come as a great opportunity to Ruthie Henshaw, she has admitted.
Taking to the stage in a straight play has given her the chance to try out something different, Henshaw told the East Anglia Daily Times.
After making a career of performing in musicals including Les Miserables, Miss Saigon and Oliver!, she felt that it was time for her to "spread her wings" and try a new style of performing.
Her co-stars Alison Steadman, Hermione Norris and Robert Bathurst have provided her with an education in stage acting, she explained.
"Working with Alison, Hermonie and Robert shows that to succeed on stage you have to put the work in," the Olivier award-winning performer noted.
The production of the Noel Coward play about a ghostly seance is scheduled to open for previews at London's Apollo Theatre on March 2nd 2011 and run until June 18th.
