Cast Emerges for Posh at the Duke of York’s Theatre
Returning Cast Members and Newcomers for the Royal Court Transfer Landing in May
In the middle of March it was announced that two shows from the Royal Court Theatre – “Posh” and “Jumpy” – would be transferring to the Duke of York’s Theatre in the West End from May. Now an update has emerged for one of them, as returning cast members are announced for “Posh”, alongside newcomers that will be joining them when the show opens next month.
Returning cast members like Leo Bill, Simon Shepherd, Henry Lloyd-Hughes, Tom Mison, Jolyon Coy, Richard Goulding, Charlotte Lucas and Joshua McGuire will be joined by the likes of Steffan Rhodri, Harry Lister Smith, Max Bennett, Edward Killingback, Pip Carter and Jessica Ransom.
Leo Bill has appeared in numerous movies over the years, including the recent American remake of “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo”, and this has seen him appear alongside various well known actors. He is best known for appearing in “The Living and the Dead”, though his other credits include Tim Burton’s “Alice in Wonderland”, “Me and Orson Welles” and television shows like “Doctor Who”, “Ashes to Ashes” and “Lead Balloon”. In addition to “Posh” at the Royal Court Theatre, he has also entertained London theatre audiences in “The School for Scandal” at the Barbican Theatre.
Meanwhile, co-star Simon Shepherd is best known for playing Dr Will Preston in the television show “Peak Practice”, though he has also appeared in “Doctors” and numerous other shows.
Finally, one of the newcomers Steffan Rhodri has appeared in various movies as well, in addition to “Abigail’s Party” at the Hampstead Theatre and “Clybourne Park” at the Royal Court Theatre. Her credits include both parts of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows”, “Ironclad” and “Ali G Indahouse”.
“Posh” takes place at Oxford University where an elite dining society meets up to continue the planning stages of their takeover. It appears at the venue prior to the also-recently-announced “Jumpy” and does so following Zach Braff’s “All New People”, which continues at the West End venue until Saturday 28th April 2012.
“Posh” is at the Duke of York’s Theatre from Wednesday 23rd May 2012 (previews from Friday 11th May 2012) to Saturday 4th August 2012.
