Anna Farnworth, Tom Bateman and Others Join Tennant and Catherine Tate from May 2011

Every year an abundance of Shakespearean productions head to the stage around the capital, from “The Tempest”, which is set to run at the Haymarket Theatre soon, to “Pericles” at the Open Air Theatre, and as a result the capital regularly proves itself as the best place to celebrate the Bard. But perhaps the most anticipated of these is set to appear at the Wyndham’s Theatre from May 2011 – “Much Ado About Nothing” – and what makes this production stand out from the crowd is the casting of former “Doctor Who” co-stars David Tennant and Catherine Tate in lead roles.

Now the full cast has been revealed for the production, with a long list of names joining the previously announced pairing. Anna Farnworth is amongst them in the role of Innogen, as is Tom Bateman as Claudio and Sarah MacRae as Hero. The cast includes Alex Beckett, Joshua Berg, Jonathan Coy, Mike Grady, Clive Hayward, Derek Howard, Kathryn Hunt, Adam James, Lee Knight, Elliot Levey, Nicholas Lumley, John Ramm, Enzo Squillino Jnr, Leo Staar, Natalie Thomas and Hannah Warren-Green. They will all be performing under the direction of Josie Rourke until September 2011.

Anna Farnworth has appeared in a wide variety of productions across the country prior to being cast in “Much Ado About Nothing”. She has various theatre credits, from west end shows like “Jane Eyre” at the Playhouse Theatre and “The Importance of Being Earnest” at the Aldwych, to others like “Pride and Prejudice” on a national tour. She has also appeared in numerous film and television roles with credits that include “V for Vendetta” and “The Sea Change” in the former category, plus “Doctors”, “EastEnders” and “The Commander” in the latter.

Both Tennant and Tate will be attracting “Doctor Who” fans from across the country when the show opens. They played the famous timelord and his companion respectively during Tennant’s last full season as the Doctor before Matt Smith took over. His other credits include “Casanova” for television and “Hamlet” in the West End.

Much Ado About Nothing is at the Wyndham’s Theatre from Wednesday 1st June 2011 (previews from Monday 16th May 2011) and its current booking period take it to Saturday 3rd September 2011.
