Coldplay to perform charity concerts
Coldplay have announced that they are to perform two concerts next month to raise funds for homeless charity Crisis.
The chart-topping band are to take to the stage for performances in Newcastle and Liverpool on December 19th and 20th 2010, although the venues for the gigs have not yet been announced.
Instead, the band will reveal the location just 24 hours before the show, in order to highlight the plight of many homeless people who do not know where they will spend the night.
People living in and around the two cities are being given priority on gaining the tickets, with only credit cards that have been registered to a local postcode being eligible.
The remainder are open to users of Coldplay's website and 30 meet and greet tickets will be auctioned by the band, offering the chance to meet the band and have VIP access to the gig.
The group are currently working on their fifth record, the follow up to the 2008 album Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends, which included tracks Violet Hill and Cemeteries of London.
