Casting Announcement for the Upcoming West End Show

One of the anticipated illusions-based shows headed to the West End in upcoming months, The Illusionists: Witness The Impossible announced it was headed to the Shaftesbury Theatre earlier this year.

It will appear in a year that has already seen the likes of Impossible run at the Noel Coward Theatre and will be joined by Derren Brown: Miracle, which runs during the same period when it is performed the Palace Theatre from November.

The Illusionists was already boasting some big names in the world of magic and illusions, with James Raven, Andrew Basso, Kevin James, Colin Cloud and Ben Blaque set to take to the stage. Now they will be joined by Den Den and David Williamson, known as The Manipulator and The Trickster respectively.

It has been indicated that The Illusionists will feature magic alongside memorable and spectacular stunts, whilst humour will be deployed to round it off. It is a highly anticipated production that previously appeared on other stages around the world, including on Broadway in 2014, with its West End version hoping to emulate the success it has found elsewhere.

The employment of both Den Den and David Williamson only add to this. Both are well known in the magic community, with Williamson previously appearing on various television shows in the United States, including Magicians’ Favourite Magicians. He also starred in The illusionists as part of the show’s world tour.

Other members of the cast also have a lot of fans. James Raven is perhaps the best known as he was a contestant on the hit television series Britain’s Got Talent, whilst co-star Ben Blaque has previously appeared across the Pond in America’s Got Talent.  Meanwhile, Andrew Basso is one of the biggest names in illusion in Italy.

The Illusionists was originally conceived by Simon Painter and he acts as producer on the show.

The Illusionists will entertain audiences later in the year when it runs at the Shaftesbury Theatre from Monday 16th November 2015 (with previews beginning on Saturday 14th November 2015) to Sunday 3rd January 2015.
