Ellie Goulding to change direction
Ellie Goulding is to move away from the style which helped her become a big name on her next album.
The pop star has emerged as one of this year's hottest musical properties, with her debut album Lights storming to the top of the charts.
However, Goulding has revealed that she will adopt a different style on the follow-up LP and showcase her voice a lot more.
"I'd like people to hear more of it because that's my instrument," she commented.
"I've written a couple of tracks and it's sounding really cool and different."
Speaking to the Daily Star, she highlighted Stornoway as one act that has helped to inspire her in recent months.
Goulding added that she is considering incorporating these influences into an album of folk songs.
The singer-songwriter rose to prominence when she topped the BBC Sound of 2010 list and was handed the Critics Choice Award at the Brits.
She will embark on a UK tour later this year.
