Extension for Kinky Boots and for Mr Tumble’s Run in The Railway Children

Kinky Boots - Adelphi Theatre

As September continues along the news from the West End begins to heat up following August’s annual lack of updates. With that in mind we turn our attentions to the latest booking extensions and changes for two of the capital’s well known shows, namely the West End’s Kinky Boots and the Kings Cross Theatre’s The Railway Children.

The former has added new dates at its home of the Adelphi Theatre, meaning audiences now have options up to May 2017, whilst the Railway Children has a casting extension, granting Justin Fletcher (currently playing Mr Perks) an extra couple of weeks at Kings Cross – news that will undoubtedly be good news for the entertainer’s younger fans.

Kinky Boots has been running at the Adelphi Theatre since August last year and since then has become of the West End’s big draws, with audiences flocking to witness the story of Charlie Price and entertainer Lola, the latter of whom helps to turn around his failing shoe factory in Northampton. The musical also features songs like Land Of Lola, Sex Is In The Heel and In This Corner, amongst others.

Audiences can continue to enjoy Kinky Boots, which earned the Best New Musical Laurence Olivier Award earlier this year, as it is now booking at the Adelphi Theatre for performances until Saturday 6th May 2017.

Meanwhile, The Railway Children has been running at the purpose-built King’s Cross Theatre since December 2014, with Justin Fletcher (who kids might know as Mr Tumble) the latest performer to play Mr Perks. He was due to step down from the role in early November ahead of the show’s closure this January, but will now remain for an extra two weeks until the second half of the month.

Mr Perks is, of course, the railway porter who befriends the titular railway children when they relocate from the city to the Yorkshire countryside after the disappearance of their father.

The popular production closes at the King’s Cross Theatre on Sunday 8th January 2017, with Justin Fletcher/Mr Tumble playing Mr Perks until Saturday 19th November 2016 (excluding the week commencing Monday 31st October 2016).
