Two High Profile west end shows Add New Dates at the Prince of Wales Theatre and Playhouse Theatre Respectively

Two of the capital’s popular musicals have been granted new dates to add to their ongoing performances in the West End. The Book of Mormon, which continues to entertain the crowds at the Prince of Wales Theatre, extends to June 2015, whilst Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown goes further into the summer with an extension to August 2015.

The Book Of Mormon is the famous musical that has been put together by South Park creators Trey Parker & Matt Stone and Avenue Q’s Robert Lopez. It is the story of Mormon missionaries, who head to Uganda to spread the teachings of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. But the People there are not interested in religion as they have bigger things to worry about...things like famine and war.

The comic musical has been a smash hit on both sides of the Atlantic and its West End production has proven to be both a critical and audience favourite as its hilarious script and enjoyable musical numbers combine to create something spectacular. It opened at the Prince of Wales Theatre in March 2013 and now, thanks to the new booking extension, it will continue until at least Saturday 27th June 2015.

Women On The Verge Of A Nervous Breakdown is a more recent addition to the capital, having opened at the Playhouse Theatre earlier this year. It is the well known stage musical adaptation of the 1988 Pedro Almodóvar film of the same name and features the familiar television actress Tamsin Greig in a lead role.

The Madrid-based tale tells the story of Pepa (Greig) and her relentless search for the truth after being dumped by her lover. She and her friends have a highly eventful couple of days as a result of this as Pepa tries to discover why she was dumped, causing her to cross paths with the man’s latest lover, plus his wife and child.

The production, which has also been nominated for Laurence Olivier Awards, is now booking at the West End’s Playhouse Theatre until Saturday 22nd August 2015.
