Two west end shows Add New Dates into the Summer Months

Two popular plays in the West End will be staying a little longer thanks to the booking extensions that they have announced recently. Twelve Angry Men and Ghost Stories have added new dates that will allow them to continue performances into the summer, giving audiences new opportunities to pick up theatre tickets.

Twelve Angry Men is based on the Sidney Lumet movie of the same name and follows a group of jurors as they hold deliberations on a court case. During the proceeds the whole room is convinced that the defendant in the case is guilty – all except juror number 8 who has seen the matter in a completely different light. If juror number 8 can’t convince the rest of the group of his view then they are going to be stuck in this room for a long time and the defendant could be executed.

The movie starred Henry Fonda as juror number 8 and it has been announced that, from Monday 31st March 2014, Tom Conti will be replacing Martin Shaw in the role at the Garrick Theatre. Conti is well known actor who has appeared in a range of television programme and stage productions, having previously appeared at the Garrick Theatre when he starred in Jeffrey Bernard Is Unwell at the venue in 2006.

Having added new dates to its booking period, Twelve Angry Men is now booking at the Garrick Theatre to Saturday 14th June 2014.

Ghost Stories is currently enjoying its second appearance in the West End following its run at the Duke of York’s Theatre in 2010. On this occasion is appears at the Arts Theatre, having opened there in February, and has been scaring audiences with its three spooky tales of the supernatural.

Opening with a paranormal expert (Paul Kemp) giving a lecture we witness the three tales unfold onstage as he recount the cases that have baffled him the most. It is penned by Andy Nyman, well known for his work with Derren Brown, and Jeremy Dyson, one of the (unseen) members of the League of Gentlemen.

Originally booking to May 2014, Ghost Stories will now remain at the Arts Theatre until Sunday 17th August 2014.
