Full Cast Announced The Mousetrap 60th Anniversary Tour
In January 2016 Agatha Christie’s The Mousetrap will embark on its first ever UK tour. Performances will kick-off at the Nottingham Theatre Royal, where it first opened back in 1952 starring Richard Attenborough together with his wife Sheila Sim.
Since 1958 the iconic murder mystery play has become the world’s longest running stage production at its London venue, recently celebrating its 26,000th performance. The 60th anniversary tour has also broken box office records at many of its touring venues and is quickly approaching 1,000 performances after being seen by almost one million audience members.
To further mark the 60th year on a global scale Mousetrap Productions has licensed an impressive 60 productions of the show to be performed around the world. This will ensure that the world’s longest running show will have played in every continent with productions across the US, Canada and Europe, as well as South America, South Africa, China and Korea.
During this time the show will continue its London run at the St. Martin’s Theatre where it is currently booking until January 2017.
When the show celebrated its 50th anniversary back in 2001 a special gala performance was held at the Savoy. As well as being attended by some of the show’s original cast members it was also attended by The Queen to mark the memorable, historic occasion.
