Funny Girl Tickets Are Hot Property As West End Show Sells Out
Sheridan Smith has something to smile about today; tickets for her new starring role in the West End production of Funny Girl sold out within hours of going on sale yesterday. In fact, it’s officially become the Menier Chocolate Factory’s fastest-selling show to date.
The classic 1968 film starring Barbra Streisand and the late Omar Sharif was a captivating musical that propelled Streisand into the movie mainstream. With Sheridan Smith taking the lead role of Fanny Brice in the upcoming theatre production, this will be a West End musical that shows Smith’s wide-ranging talents and fans will be delighted to see her transform Fanny Brice into a modern day comedian, singer and actress. Only someone with the charisma and clear acting and singing ability could really do this lady justice, and Sheridan Smith is just the woman for the job.
Fresh from her outstanding TV performance as Cilla Black, Smith has earned rave reviews about her acting ability, with many commenting just how far she has come since her “2 Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps” days. She is now genuine hot property…and so are the Funny Girl West End show tickets!
Smith is no stage novice either; she has appeared in the 2006 production of Little Shop of Horrors and A Midsummer Night’s Dream to name a few. We think she’s going to be a fantastic Fanny Brice.
The show officially opens on 2nd December and runs through to 5th March 2016.
