Ghost to succeed Grease at London's Piccadilly Theatre
It has been confirmed that the Piccadilly Theatre is to be the West End home of Ghost when it arrives in London next year.
Current resident Grease will close its curtains for the last time on April 30th 2011 and Ghost will then arrive for an official gala opening at the same venue on July 19th.
Dave Stewart of the Eurythmics has co-written the music with Glen Ballard, while the adaptation from the 1990 movie has been carried out by Bruce Joel Rubin.
Ghost was a huge hit on the silver screen when it was released 20 years ago and starred Patrick Swayze, Demi Moore and Whoopi Goldberg.
It told the story of young couple Sam and Molly (Swayze and Moore), who were involved in a robbery as they walked home from a night out.
Sam was killed, but Molly remained in danger and was stunned to find her dead boyfriend was trying to contact her through a medium (Goldberg).
