KT Tunstall feared signing to record label
KT Tunstall has admitted that she was apprehensive about signing to a major record label as she thought she would lose creative control.
The Scottish singer confessed to Stylist magazine that while she wanted to stay independent, when she reached 27 years old she realised she was not making any money and need to get a record deal.
"It was apparent I would have to change my strategy if I was going to make a living from music," the Suddenly I See performer explained.
However, she still called the decision the "most challenging" one she has ever made as she was concerned she would be signing herself over to people she could not trust.
Tunstall's latest album Tiger Suit is set to be released on September 27th 2010, with a review from The Skinny website calling it a "lasting achievement", noting that while it does not take itself too seriously it is also not disposable pop.
