Leicester's Summer Sundae Line-up Emerges
The steady flow of news articles regarding the line-ups of summer music festival continues to stream in, this time with the Summer Sundae event announcing a line-up that includes The Maccabees, Graham Coxon and Newton Faulkner. It means that the annual music festival, held in Leicester, joins the likes of T in the Park, the V Festival and Hard Rock Calling as festivals to place their cards on the table. After all, high profile festivals such as Reading and Leeds are yet to reveal who will be taking to their main stages (according to reports, the announcement will be made on Monday 21st March 2011).
The Maccabees are the indie rock band that emerged in the second half of the last decade with their debut album “Colour It” in 2007. Since then they have been on a steady rise and followed up their debut with 2009’s “Wall of Arms”, so they will have plenty of tracks to bring to the stage when they head to Leicester, with songs out there such as “Empty Vessels”, “Can You Give It?”, “Love You Better” and more. With their most recent album appearing two years ago, the band have been hard at work on their third effort and this will likely see the light of day in 2011.
The Summer Sundae music festival is held annually at DeMontfort Hall in Leicester and prides itself not only on the high quality of the music on display, but also a relaxed atmosphere. All festivals naturally offer an unbeatable atmosphere to go along with the famous musicians taking to the stage, but the civilised nature of Summer Sundae is of particular note. It is undoubtedly one of many reasons that the event has maintained its place in the spotlight since it first emerged in 2002.
In addition to The Maccabees, Graham Coxon and Newton Faulkner, Summer Sundae has also announced The Bees, Little Comets, Bellowhead, Wilko Johnson, The Cuban Brothers, CW Stoneking, John Cooper Clarke, Benjamin Francis Leftwich, Liam Bailey, Skinny Lister, Mama Sosin, Raghu Dixit, Various Cruelties, The Black Atlantic and Dizraeli & the Small Gods.
Summer Sundae takes place in Leicester from Friday 12th August 2011 to Sunday 14th August 2011.
