Recently it was revealed that the Savoy Theatre, currently the home of “Legally Blonde the Musical”, will be the upcoming home of Neil Simon’s “The Sunshine Boys”, with Danny DeVito making his West End debut and Richard Griffiths returning to a London theatre. Now more names have been added to the cast list and they include Adam Levy, Rebecca Blackstone, Nick Blakeley, Peter Cadden, Johnnie Fiori and William Maxwell.
Adam Levy, portraying Ben Silverman, has a long list of credits to his name and these have spanned both the stage and screen. He has worked extensively with the Royal Shakespeare Company with roles in the likes of “Beauty and the Beast” and “Richard II” alongside “Henry V” for the National Theatre. For the screen his credits include roles in BBC shows like “Parade’s End”, “Young James Herriot” and “Holby City”, as well as movies “Mercenaries” and “Gladiator”.
Meanwhile, Rebecca Blackstone, playing Miss MacKintosh, has appeared in various stage shows in the United Kingdom, from the Salisbury Playhouse to the Old Vic Tunnels. Most recently she appeared alongside Marc Warren in “Cool Hand Luke” at the Adelphi Theatre.

In “The Sunshine Boys”, DeVito and Griffiths play two aging comedians – Willie Clark and Al Lewis – who parted company long ago following many years in the spotlight. Now CBS has come calling and they want them to reunite for a television special, so time will tell if they can put their differences behind them and the legendary double act will return to the stage.
The production marks the West End stage debut of Hollywood actor Danny DeVito, known for movies like “Matilda”, “Batman Begins” and “Twins”, plus television shows like “Taxi” and “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia”.
“The Sunshine Boys” is at the Savoy Theatre from Thursday 17th May 2012 (previews from Friday 27th April 2012) to Saturday 28th July 2012.
