Line-up announced for John Lennon tribute gig
Yoko Ono has announced the line-up for a concert to commemorate what would have been John Lennon's 70th birthday.
The widow of the Beatles star has stated that two gigs will take place in the Los Angeles' Orpheum Theatre on October 2nd and 3rd.
A raft of big performers have been named, ranging from Iggy Pop and Pharrell Williams to RZA.
In addition, Lady Gaga will take to the stage with the Plastic Ono Band, while the actress Carrie Fisher and Japanese performer Haruomi Hosono are also included on the bill for the two events.
The date of Lennon's birthday itself - October 9th - will see Ono perform a concert of her own in Iceland with her band, as well as taking part in a series of events to promote peace.
The concerts may offer the perfect opportunity for Lady Gaga to showcase some of her new material, which her producer RedOne recently described as a "shocking" new sound.
