Martin Shaw's A Country Girl return 'sentimental'
Appearing in the play A Country Girl for the second time has been an emotional experience for Martin Shaw.
The actor, who is well-known for his role in the BBC programme Judge John Deed, is to step on to the stage in the play he featured in 27 years ago.
However, this is made all the more significant as he is once again working with Bill Kenwright, who achieved his first West End success with the play in the same theatre over two decades ago, the London Evening Standard noted.
"The play was the start of a very long friendship," Shaw, 67, told the publication.
He added that it is a "sentimental journey" to work with his former producer again on a show that had been so successful them.
The performances at the Apollo Theatre are the culmination of the UK tour of the play and are due to run from October 6th 2010 to February 26th 2011.
