MIA confirms European tour dates
British rapper and singer MIA is set to play two British dates as part of her European tour this October.
Hitting the road in support of her new studio album Maya and recent single XXXO, the 35-year-old will play at the Carling Brixton Academy in London on October 10th and Manchester's Warehouse Project three days later.
MIA is due to follow those gigs with a series of shows across Europe, including dates in Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Italy and Spain.
Released in July, MIA's third album attracted headlines for its experimental approach and the controversial video that accompanied one of the songs, Born Free.
Known for her political activism, the London-born artist released her debut record Arular in 2005 after amassing a large internet following.
She enjoyed major success with her second album Kala and the single Paper Planes, which spawned multiple remixes and featured on the soundtrack to hit film Slumdog Millionaire.
