Morrissey praises unsigned band
An unsigned act has received a boost after being praised by former Smiths frontman Morrissey.
After seeing Doll and the Kicks performing live, the veteran singer was very vocal in his admiration for the group and especially their frontwoman Hannah Scanlon, NME.com reported.
"When I first saw Doll and The Kicks live, I could not, even with the best will in the world, look away," Morrissey is quoted as saying.
"I can't be reasoned with where Hannah is concerned - she is the best British singer of recent years."
The band themselves were delighted with the praise, explaining that after their gig Morrissey spoke to each of them individually and discussed what he had enjoyed most about their set.
Doll and the Kicks may pick up even more fans tonight (October 13th 2010) as they are set to play a gig at London's Hoxton Square Bar and Kitchen, before performing in cities including Portsmouth and Bristol during the rest of the month.
