Naked and Famous shows benefit from unusual writing method
Music fans heading to a Naked and Famous show this year may be interested to hear that the band members tend to combine their experiences to come up with their songs.
Singer Thom Powers explained to Inmycommunity that the group's catchy single Punching in a Dream saw bandmate Alisa Xayalith pen lyrics about something that happened to her.
But he explained that his own words in the song have nothing to do with her lines, with the act preferring their tracks to be a mixture of feelings rather than having a single narrative.
"When I was writing my parts of the lyrics, I was writing about a night I had performing; about having a bad anxiety attack and not wanting to do it anymore," Powers was quoted as saying.
The group are due to play a concert at the O2 Academy in Birmingham on February 28th 2011, with fans no doubt hoping to hear Punching in a Dream and other tracks from debut album Passive Me, Aggressive You.
