Zaraah Abrahams, Jake Davies and Danny-Boy Hatchard Also Join the Cast Alongside Already-Announced Suranne Jones

Suranne Jones was the focus of the last news to appear in relation to the upcoming Arts Theatre show Beautiful Thing and this week she stands aside to let additional cast members hit the spotlight. Starring alongside her in the production, when it opens in April, will be Oliver Farnworth, Zaraah Abrahams, Jake Davies and Danny-Boy Hatchard, all working under the direction of the already-announced Nikolai Foster.

Oliver Farnworth may be familiar to those that pick up theatre tickets thanks to his roles in television shows. His most famous is perhaps the long-running soap Hollyoaks, where he portrays the character of Will Hackett. However, he has also appeared in television shows such as The Royal and Doctors. Meanwhile, for the stage he has also amassed a credit in the West End, with an appearance in Holding The Man at the Trafalgar Studios, in addition to roles in productions around the country such as Saturday Night And Sunday Morning at the Harrogate Theatre. So audiences are certainly likely to recognise the actor when he takes on a lead role in the production at the Arts Theatre.

The focus of Beautiful Thing, however, is on two teenage boys portrayed by Jakes Davies and Danny-Boy Hatchard. They find love between one another in an inner city housing estate (Thamesmead, London) in the production. It has been described as an urban musical love story in publications, with homophobic bullying and ever-present uncertainty plaguing the boys through their struggle. Whilst Hatchard will be making his stage debut with the production, Davies has previously appeared in television shows.

Abrahams has also been seen in acting roles before as she was a well known part of the show Waterloo Road (until 2005). She has also appeared in Coronation Street and Dancing On Ice.

Whilst audiences will also be gearing up to see The Tailor-Made Man soon – and American Justice plays their currently – Beautiful Thing begins its run at the venue on Wednesday 17th April 2013 (with previews set to begin on Saturday 13th April 2013).
