One-Off Performance of A Night With Pacino at the London Palladium
The Hollywood Legend Al Pacino Brings His One-Man Show to the Capital in June
Over the weekend it was revealed that Al Pacino would be bringing his one-man show A Night With Pacino to the London Palladium for a one-off performance in June. It will mark the latest occasion in which a well known Hollywood actor would take to the stage in the West End and will offer a unique opportunity for his fans to pick up theatre tickets and see an idol in the flesh.
Pacino’s career is one that many in Hollywood would envy and An Evening With Pacino will explore this, looking at his stage work he has conducted throughout his life and, on top of this, the works that made him a household name around the world. But it won’t just be an evening of Pacino talking; audience members will also get a chance to speak to him directly as the show will also include a question-answer session. In the intimate setting of the London Palladium A Night With Pacino is something that fans of the Hollywood veteran will not want to miss.
Al Pacino is best known for his movie work, which has seen him appear in a wealth of iconic films over the last few decades. His most famous pictures include The Godfather trilogy, in which he portrayed Michael Corleone in three movies, Scarface, Scent Of A Woman (earning him an Academy Award), Serpico, Dog Day Afternoon and Heat. However, his career includes stage work as well, with credits like Glengarry Glen Ross (playing Jack Lemon’s roe of Shelley Levene instead of reprising the part of Ricky Samoa as he did in the 1992 film), American Buffalo and The Merchant Of Venice. The latter two productions saw him nominated for Tony Awards in the 1980s and 2010s respectively.
The London Palladium is currently the home of the hit musical A Chorus Line, which has two nominations for Laurence Olivier Awards ahead of the ceremony on Sunday 28th April – one for Best Musical Revival and another for Best Performance in a Supporting Role in a Musical for Leigh Zimmerman. The production continues until at least February 2014 when its current booking period ends, with A Night With Pacino taking place on one night in June.
A Night With Pacino is at the London Palladium on Sunday 2nd June 2013.
