Radiohead guitarist to perform with BBC orchestra
Radiohead musician Jonny Greenwood is to swap huge festival crowds for an audience of classical music enthusiasts in an upcoming gig.
The guitarist, who has been a member of Radiohead since the start of the iconic group, is to showcase his composition entitled Smear as part of the Electronical with the BBC Concert Orchestra event.
Staged at the Queen Elizabeth Hall on London's South Bank, the concert will take place on October 6th 2010 and will also feature a performance from Will Gregory, the producer with Goldfrapp.
With former Pulp frontman Jarvis Cocker acting as presenter, the showcase will also see a rendition of the Miklos Rozsa composed soundtrack for the Salvador Dali-designed dream sequence from Alfred Hitchcock's film Spellbound.
Rozsa is famous for his work as a film score composer, creating the soundtracks to many of the biggest MGM films produced in the 1950s, including Quo Vadis and Ben Hur.
