Rod Stewart Headlining Hard Rock Calling
Legendary Rocker the Sunday Headliner for Hyde Park, London Event
With Rockness, the V Festival and Creamfields amongst those to have recently announced headline acts in recent weeks, Hard Rock Calling becomes the latest to add its name to the list. The annual festival, which takes place at Hyde Park in London, will be welcoming the popular rock star Rod Stewart to the stage in 2011, allowing him to headline the Sunday night slot whilst Bon Jovi entertains the crowds on Saturday.
Hard Rock Calling regularly attracts audiences with festival tickets in June/July, with this year’s event no different.
Rod Stewart needs little introduction. After all, the popular singer, songwriter and musician has been performing now for forty years, having emerged towards the end of the 1960s and since entertaining audiences with a range of well known songs. His hits include the likes of “Maggie May”, “Da Ya Think I’m Sexy?”, “Handbags and Gladrags” and “Tonight’s the Night (Gonna Be Alright)”, among others. Between the late 1960s and the modern day he has also released albums such as “Every Picture Tells a Story”, “Blondes Have More Fun”, “Sing it Again Rod” and more.
The Hard Rock Calling festival has welcomed a range of acts over the years, with Rod Stewart the latest in a long line of well known and decades-spanning artists to appear, with previous musicians including Neil Young, The Who, Sir Paul McCartney, Bruce Springsteen, Eric Clapton, Roger Waters and Aerosmith, among others, with various modern acts on the bill as well. The event has been running since 2006 and in the years since it first emerged it went from being known as Hyde Park Calling to its current name of Hard Rock Calling. It regularly attracts abundant numbers of music fans and this is unlikely to change when Hard Rock Calling 2011 rolls around.
Bon Jovi are the Saturday night headliners and they also arrive with a long line of hits under their belts, which span from the early 1980s to the modern day. Their songs include “Living on a Prayer”, “It’s My Life” and more.
Hard Rock Calling 2011 takes place at Hyde Park in London from Friday 24th June 2011 to Sunday 26th June 2011.
