Romeo and Juliet show venue 'most popular in the world'
Anyone attending a Romeo and Juliet show at the O2 will be visiting the most popular venue of 2010, with 1.7 million ticket sales recorded for the year.
David Campbell, president and chief executive of O2 operators AEG Europe, responded by taking a moment to thank all the massive acts that played at the complex and stressed that his team intend to maintain the centre's position as a world leader.
Romeo and Juliet, the classic William Shakespeare tale of star-crossed lovers, is set to be performed at the venue in June and will be the first ballet ever staged there.
"We are immensely proud of what the O2 has achieved. In what was a tough economic year, we are thrilled to reinforce our position," added Mr Campbell.
The production to be performed at the venue this summer will be an adaptation of Sergei Prokofiev's ballet, as interpreted by the late dancer and choreographer Sir Kenneth MacMillan.
