Rufus Wainwright announces Royal Opera House residency
Rufus Wainwright has announced a five-night residency at the Royal Opera House next year.
The singer is set to stage in the special 5 Nights of Velvet, Glamour and Guilt showcase, which will see him perform four different shows during the stint.
On the first night, July 18th 2011, the Canadian will perform his acclaimed Judy Garland tribute show Rufus Does Judy!, before giving it a second showcase on July 22nd.
He will take to the stage with his sister Martha on July 19th and keep it a family affair the following night when he performs with his father Loudon Wainwright III
The final performance on July 23rd will be dedicated to a performance of his opera Prima Donna, with Wainwright concluding the evening with a set of his own songs.
As yet the dates are the only ones the performer has scheduled for 2011, with a series of concerts in the US and Canada set to conclude at the end of next month.
