Shen Yun show displays Chinese dance traditions
People who are interested in the art of Chinese dance could attend a Shen Yun show in London this year.
The Shen Yun Performing Arts Company is coming to the capital from its home in New York to present some of its dances on stage, which draw on the influences of Buddhism, Taoism and Confucianism in addition to traditional Chinese art forms.
Taking its name from one of the original titles for the area now occupied by China, the troupe will give their first performance at the London Coliseum on April 5th 2011.
Despite only setting up the organisation in 2007, the company quickly made a name for itself and has received sparkling reviews of its performances.
It has grown rapidly in its time to form three separate companies, comprising of hundreds of performers.
Dance lovers with cheap theatre tickets can catch the performances that have enthralled audiences in countries including Australia and Turkey until April 10th at the London venue.
