Shirley Bassey to sing at Ryder Cup concert
Dame Shirley Bassey is the latest Welsh star to be added to the concert to celebrate the country hosting the Ryder Cup.
The veteran performer will take to the stage at the Millennium Stadium in her hometown of Cardiff
Her appearance at the Welcome to Wales concert on September 29th 2010, which will be attended by both the US and European golf teams, is thought to be the first time the performer has sang in her native country for five years.
She is not the only star set to take to the stage for the one-off event, as opera sensation Katherine Jenkins will perform, as will rock band Lostprophets.
In addition, Oscar-winning actress Catherine Zeta-Jones will be taking to the stage at the start of the show to give a special address while presenter Stephen Jones will take over hosting duties for the rest of the night.
It is not the first time Bassey has performed for a large contemporary audience, as she was a headline act at Glastonbury festival in 2007.
