Sister Act musical to move to Broadway
The Sister Act musical which has taken the West End by storm is to transfer to Broadway.
With the current run of the adaptation of the hit 1992 film due to end on October 30th 2010 at the London Palladium, plans have been announced for it to open at the Broadway Theatre in New York during the spring.
Following the same story as the movie, it charts how Doloris Van Cartier is forced to hide in a convent after witnessing a murder, where she helps inspire the choir with her love of disco music.
Casting has not yet been announced for the American version of the production, set to open on April 20th 2011, so it is not known if Whoopi Goldberg will don her habit again to reprise the role of Mother Superior.
Another version of the show is due to open in Germany on December 2nd, with curtains rising at the city's Operettenhaus theatre.
