Top Disney Aladdin Moments We Can’t Wait To See On Stage
We’re counting down the months to Aladdin’s West End debut at London’s Prince Edward Theatre. And whilst it’s yet to be announced who will be starring in the leading roles, one thing we are sure of is that everything we loved about the original animated film will be back and we can’t wait to experience the nostalgic feeling of one of our favourite Disney classics all over again.
One of the most memorable moments and characters of the story is without a doubt Genie. From his charismatic personality to his toe tapping musical numbers he’s hard not to love, especially when he’s belting out everyone’s favourite, ‘Friend like me.’
Aladdin’s made his first official wish and the Genie has transformed him into his royal alter-ego, Prince Ali Ababwa. We can’t wait to see the prince’s big reveal and grand entrance all in a bid to impress Princess Jasmin.
Magic Carpet Ride
Possibly one of the most iconic Disney moments of all time and soon to be one of our favourites on stage too – queue Aladdin’s magic carpet ride with Princess Jasmin. The scene also inspired a now famous romantic duet, ‘A Whole New World’, which was released as a single performed by Peabo Bryson and Regina Belle. The song went on to receive an Academy Award for Best Original Song as well as a Grammy Award for Song of the Year.
A Happy Ending
One of the things we love most about Disney tales like Aladdin is that there is always a happy ending. In this case the boy gets the girl, the villain is slain and the Genie is set free – what more could you ask for?
Whatever Aladdin moment you’re most excited for, West End audiences can look forward to being whisked away to a whole new world of Disney magic on stage. Click here to make sure you’re the first to know about the latest show updates and ticket sales.
