War Horse extends West End run
War Horse will now be staged in the West End until 2012 after another extension was announced.
The play, which is currently being performed at the New London Theatre, will now continue until February 18th 2012.
Adapted for the stage by Nick Stafford from Michael Murporgo's book, it tells the story of a horse named Joey who was sold to the cavalry and sent to the trenches of the First World War.
His owner Albert never forgets about his beloved pet and although he is too young to sign up to the army, he sets out to find Joey and bring him back from no man's land.
The actors in the show perform alongside life-size puppets of the horses to give a realistic look to the production.
Work is currently taking place on creating a film version of the play, with Steven Spielberg planning to direct the movie after buying the rights earlier in the year.
