Wicked 'has taken the world by storm'
West End star Lee Mead has hailed Wicked for "taking the whole world by storm".
According to the performer, who plays Fiyero in the musical, Wicked is a "really big show".
This, he said, sets it apart from other musicals and makes him feel very lucky to be part of it.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, he revealed that he was always a fan of Wicked and regularly tried to catch it when he trained in New York.
"But it had sold out and I couldn't get tickets," Mead said.
He stated that he really enjoys performing in the West End, as it is a place where he had always wanted to work.
Mean added that while performing eight shows in a week can be hard work, he is used to it after spending ten years in theatreland.
The West End star first rose to prominence when he won the BBC talent show Any Dream Will Do, which gave him the chance to star in a West End revival of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.
He later married actress and former Big Breakfast presenter Denise Van Outen.
