Access/ How to Get There
The Peacock Theatre is located on Portugal Street, which is highly close to Aldwych and, with it, other West End venues like the Aldwych Theatre, the Lyceum Theatre, the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane, the Novello Theatre, the Duchess Theatre and the New London theatre, amongst others. It is next to the London School of Economics, who use it for a variety of purposes, whilst the usual amenities one would expect to find in the centre of London are also nearby.
For those arriving by London Underground, the nearest tube station takes the form of Holborn just north of the Peacock Theatre, whilst Temple is also in close proximity. Meanwhile, for those arriving at the venue by train, the nearest railway station takes the form of Charing Cross.
For those arriving by road, there are a number of bus services operating in the area that will bring audiences to, or near to, the Peacock Theatre. Meanwhile, car parks include a 24-hour one on Parker Street, in addition to on-street parking on Lincoln Inn Fields (after 6.30) and a bay for blue badge holders on Portugal Street. As parking can be difficult in central London, public transport is always well-advised.
In terms of disabled access, the Peacock Theatre can be accessed by a doorway on Kingsway, which ushers can help with if they are asked. There are two spaces for those in wheelchairs at the rear of the Dress Circle, with room for companions also, whilst Transfer Seats are also available on aisle seats. Unfortunately there is no disabled toilet.
For those that are hard-of-hearing there is an infra red system in place to aide in sound amplification. Meanwhile, for those that are visually impaired, guide dogs are permitted inside the auditorium, with staff members also able to dog-sit if that is preferred.
