The Savoy takes pride of place on the Strand in London and as a result finds itself near to fellow West End theatres like the Vaudeville Theatre and the Adelphi, both of which are also found on the Strand. Meanwhile, the Duchess, Lyceum, Novello and Aldwych Theatres are all located on Aldwych Road nearby. Its location also brings it close to the usual amenities found in a city centre.
For those arriving by London Underground, the nearest tube station is Charing Cross, or nearby Embankment. Covent Garden and Leicester Square are also relatively near to the venue. For those arriving by train, the nearest railway station is Charing Cross.
For those arriving by the road, a number of bus services operate in the area. It is also a part of the Theatreland Parking Scheme, with discounts for those that check out the details on the Westminster Council website. Nearby car parks include Trafalgar Square’s Westminster City Council Car Park and valet parking at Adelphi Garage.
In terms of disabled access, the Savoy Theatre, wheelchair users can access the box office through three sets of double doors along which there are no steps. To get to the auditorium, there is a separate entrance on Carting Lane. To the right of the dress circle, there are adapted toilets for disabled guests.
For those hard-of-hearing they can book in advance to use headsets that can be collected from the cloakroom (found at dress circle level). Meanwhile, guide dogs are permitted inside the auditorium, or staff members can dog-sit in the manager’s office, provided the owner contacts the venue in advance.
