The King’s Cross Theatre is a custom-purpose venue located behind King’s Cross Station in London and as a result it is a relatively recent addition to the theatre landscape of the capital.
It opened in 2014 as previews began for The Railway Children and it has since welcomed crowds of people who have been delighted by this fitting setting to a beloved classic.
The venue was specially designed for The Railway Children, E Nesbit’s classic story of city kids sent to the countryside, following the disappearance of their father, where they meet a local railway porter and embark on adventures.
However, that is not the only show to head to its stage. 2015 also sees the opening of In The Heights, the hit Broadway show that focuses those living in the Washington Heights community of New York.
