Caroline, or Change - on Broadway

Age Restriction: Might not be suitable for younger children

Olivier Award-winning actress Sharon D. Clarke reprises her critically-acclaimed performance and makes her Broadway debut in the revival of Caroline, or Change at Studio 54. With a book, music and lyrics by Tony Kushner and Jeanine Tesori, it’s a powerful musical that looks at the lives of different communities during the Civil Rights Movement. Sure to resonate with audiences around the world, don’t miss out on Caroline, or Change on Broadway.

As a large Confederate statue stands centre stage, the tense political climate in Caroline, or Change is already set. However, the musical centres around Caroline Thibodeaux, an African-American maid working for a Jewish family in Louisiana. Singing with washers, dryers and the radio, Caroline tries to make a better life for herself by working as a maid for the Gellmans, a wealthy Jewish family. But when she’s told that she can take spare change, Caroline lets greed get the better of her as she feels pressured to steal money from one child to give to her own. Finding herself on the wrong sides of the track, the progressive way of thinking isn’t matched inside the Gellman household; can Caroline change?
