West Side Story - on Broadway

Age Restriction: Recommended for Adults and Teens

‘Something’s coming...’ to the Great White Way, as West Side Story returns to ‘America’ at the Broadway Theatre. Legendary theatre-maker Ivo van Hove directs, with design by Jan Versweyveld and innovative choreography by Anne Teresa de Keersmaeker as this timeless musical is revived for the 21st century. So, if you want to see a classic show performed on stage, you’ll want to see West Side Story.

Inspired by Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, West Side Story reimagines the enduring love story in the heart of New York City. When Tony, a Jet falls for Maria, a Puerto Rican Shark, will the pair be able to stay with each other, or will gang rivalries tear them away? Considered to be an ‘indisputable, boundary-busting masterpiece’ by the New York Times, West Side Story is a culturally significant moment, featuring songs including ‘One Hand, One Heart’, ‘Somewhere’ and ‘Tonight’.

West Side Story is not the only revival heading to the Great White Way. Audiences can also see Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune starring Audra McDonald, as well as new musicals including Jagged Little Pill and Moulin Rouge, but if you’re looking to see an iconic twentieth-century show on stage, you’ll want to see West Side Story.
