13 The Musical

The Ambassadors Theatre in London’s West End, the ongoing home of Stomp, welcomes an uplifting story this summer as the musical 13 makes a return visit to the capital. The show has also appeared at regional venues over the years and now lands in the capital with Jason Robert Brown’s music intact.

13 takes us to New York, a city with a lot of potential. But youngster Evan Goldman is not going to get to experience it as circumstances relocate him to a small community in Indiana. Following a tumultuous time in his personal and family life he is going to discover the way to move forwards in his new surroundings, learning a lot about himself along the way.

As well as the music of Jason Robert Brown, the show features a book by Dan Elish and Robert Horn. This is an extraordinary team, with Brown well known for a range of well known musicals like the stage version of Honeymoon In Vegas. Together, they presented 13 for the first time in 2007 and it was first seen on Broadway in 2008, with many well known names taking on the lead roles.

Now it returns to London where it will find a new generation of audiences. It plays at the Ambassadors Theatre under the direction of Ewan Jones for a brief run from Thursday 17th August 2017 (previews from Wednesday 16th August 2017).  It is presented by the British Theatre Academy.
