Musical theatre maestro Stephen Sondheim has penned lyrics for many shows including Into the Woods and Sweeney Todd. But, the latest Sondheim musical to be revived in the West End has undergone a transformation like no other. Rather than a male leading the cast, audiences step into the theatre to meet Bobbie, a 35-year-old woman in the latest revival of Company, with permission to adapt the show by Stephen Sondheim himself. So, if you’re looking to see a classic piece of musical theatre which has been changed for modern times, you’ll want to join the crowds at Company, entertaining audiences at the Gielgud Theatre.

When Bobbie turns 35, she sees her friends around her all in couples who seem to live the perfect life. As a single lady, Bobbie seems to be the only one who is alone. But, as audiences learn about the backstories of five married couples that she knows, it quickly becomes clear that not being in a relationship isn’t an awful outcome.

Presented as a series of vignettes, couples are thrust into the spotlight as Bobbie tries to work out whether she’ll ever find the man of her dreams and if she’ll be able to settle down and start a family.

Whether you’re a regular theatregoer or you’ve never been to a musical before, Company gets relationships and whether you’re single or married on the nose. A crowd-pleaser for all ages, you’ll want to join the cast on stage as they celebrate Bobbie’s 35th birthday as well as sing along to songs including “The Ladies Who Lunch” and “Being Alive”.

Company first came to the West End in 1972, as well as a later London revival in 1995 which was nominated for four Olivier Awards. Looking to get a taste for what theatre has to offer or wanting to fall in love with the theatre again? Company is the show for you, where turning a show on its head has made for an exciting new production that the world has never seen before!
