Break out in dance at the Peacock Theatre this September as the popular musical Footlose returns to the West End for a brief appearance that will leave audiences speechless!
Based on the hit 1980s movie that starred Kevin Bacon, this stage adaptation comes to the Peacock Theatre with Gareth Gates as Willard (reprising the part played by Chris Penn on the big screen) and a host of further performers taking on these iconic parts. All in all this is an unmissable production for London theatregoers.
Audiences first saw Footloose The Musical at the Novello Theatre back in 2006 and it has also found success at other locations around the country and the world beyond, with its Broadway version causing a stir as well. On this occasion audiences around the UK will once again get a look-in as Gareth Gates (except specific performances) takes the show on the road.
The focus of Footloose centres on the character of Ren as he relocates from the city to the country and discovers that dancing is banned in his new hometown. He’s going to have to change the community for the better and his dancing style brings him at odds with the town’s authorities, making for an unforgettable story. Along the way we hear many hits of the 1980s!
The Peacock Theatre is no stranger to dance as it regularly welcomed some big international names throughout the years. This is no different in 2017 as it presents Tango Fire: Flames Of Desire and other shows, giving audiences plenty of choice in advance of Footloose’s opening in September.
Footloose runs at the Peacock Theatre, the West End outlet of Sadler’s Wells, from Tuesday 12th September 2017.
