The Charing Cross Theatre in London welcomes this unique and memorable new musical from Jill Santoriello, Jason Huza and Jeremiah James.

It Happened In Key West is an unusual love story that replays real events that took place in Florida almost a century ago, with a scientist, a dying woman and absurd scenarios playing out onstage to some great songs. It will be an opportunity to witness a truly distinct musical comedy in the London theatre district.

Meet the unusual scientist in the form of Count Carl Von Cosel, who has had the idea of the perfect woman in his head since his teens and finally meets her in 1930s Florida. But there’s a catch – he’s the man who has diagnosed her with tuberculosis and despite her marriage to another man his love for her shines through. So now he must keep her alive at any cost.

Whilst a workshopped version of the production was seen at the Fulton Theatre in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, last year, this will be the world premiere of the show proper, with Wade McCollum in the starring role of the Count and Marc Robin directing. Both have plenty of credits to their names, not only presenting the early version of It Happened In Key West on the other side of the Atlantic but accumulating other credits as well.

Robin, for example, has directed previous shows at the Fulton Theatre such as Little Shop Of Horrors, whilst McCollum has appeared in Ernest Shackleton Loves Me across the US and blockbuster musical Wicked on Broadway.

And now they travel to UK shores to appear in the premiere of It Happened In Key West at the Charing Cross Theatre from Wednesday 4th July 2018.
