Latest Review: "Great show. Nice cast and beautiful songs..."

Over the years some top musicals have taken their cues from a range of backgrounds, whether they are films and books or plays and real life stories. However, the latest musical headed to the stage of the Arts Theatre in London’s West End will tackle iconic heavyweights of literature and mix them with some of the biggest rock songs of the 20th century.

The result is Knights Of The Rose, which opens this summer and sees Racky Plews direct a show featuring songs from Bon Jovi, Robert Palmer, No Doubt, Bonnie Tyler, Black Sabbath and more. Musical lovers will not want to miss it.

The work of Jennifer Marsden, Knights Of The Rose will offer everything one would want from a rock musical, including a story featuring knights and battles as the Knights Of The Rose return to discover a new storm brewing at home. According to press material it mixes the styles of Shakespeare, Marlowe and Chaucer to bring a unique edge to the story and providing West End audiences with an unforgettable experience.

The whole thing is the brainchild of Jennifer Marsden, but it will be brought to life on the stage by Racky Plews, no stranger to the Arts Theatre following shows like American Idiot and Seussical. The director and choreographer has also worked on shows like Footloose on tour and Guys and Dolls at the Gatehouse Theatre, Highgate.

Knights Of The Rose will provide a memorably entertaining evening when it runs at the Arts Theatre from Friday 29th June 2018. It follows Ruthless! The Musical, which runs from March to June.
