The Hippodrome in London is a historic venue that normally welcomes people to its casino, but over the years it has also been the home to some stand-out shows and in 2018 one such stand-out is set to make its debut in the West End.

Miss Nightingale, from writer Matthew Bugg, is set to play at the venue from March and as a result it will transport audiences back in time for a story set during the Second World War.

Lauren Chinery plays the eponymous Miss Nightingale alongside fellow cast members Oliver Mawdsley, Matthew Floyd Jones, Adam Langstaff, Tobias Oliver and writer Matthew Bugg.

Miss Nightingale is a musical that depicts a different side to the Blitz, introducing us to the title character, a singer at an underground cabaret club, whilst we also witness affairs and secrets. The club is founded by George Nowodny and Sir Frank Worthington-Blythe, the former a Jewish refugee and the latter an RAF fighter and despite their success with Miss Nightingale, it could all be undone by a hidden secret.

Matthew Bugg, who pens the show, is a composer whose back catalogue includes a list of very familiar shows for London theatre aficionados. From The Secret Of Sherlock Holmes at the Duchess Theatre to Cirque Berserk at the Peacock Theatre. His work has also been seen beyond the capital at regional theatre around the country.

So witness great new songs and a dazzling story as Miss Nightingale runs at the Hippodrome Casino in London’s West End. It begins its brief run of performances on Wednesday 21st March 2018.
