Myth

The Other Palace in London welcomes a revamped version of a rock musical that previously appeared at the Cockpit Theatre – Myth.

Derived from the musical 27, the show focuses on mental illness in the music industry, in particular the way in which the industry hooks in those with such conditions, and linking it to the so-called ’27 Club’ that includes a number of musicians that died at the age of 27.

The show is set to be directed by Arlene Phillips, no stranger to high profile musicals, with Sam Cassidy providing the script. The result is likely to be a show that proves as successful in central London as it did at its previous home.

The production’s full title is Myth: The Rise And Fall Of Orpheus, to give audiences an idea of where it draws its inspiration.

Arlene Phillips is perhaps best known to most audiences as a former judge on Strictly Come Dancing, but she has also had a hugely successful career as a theatre director and choreographer, providing moves for shows like The Sound Of Music and The Wizard Of Oz, amongst others. It means that she is the top choice to bring this wonderful show to The Other Palace.

Myth runs at The Other Palace from Saturday 10th March 2018.
