She Loves Me

Once again we turn our attentions to the Menier Chocolate Factory, where an unmissable musical has been lined up for fans of Scarlett Strallen and director Matthew White.
A Love Story that will capture the imaginations of audiences across the capital, She Loves Me will provide crowds with a memorable and compelling story of colleagues Amalia and Georg, the former played by Scarlett Strallen,

It plays at one of the biggest London venues outside of the West End, the Menier Chocolate Factory, which has previously staged some classic shows that have since gone on to find legendary success in Theatreland, like Sweet Charity and La Cage Aux Folles, making She Loves me the latest in a long line of hit productions.

In She Loves Me we meet the two mentioned characters as two people as far removed from lovers as you can get. Little do they know, however, that they are both penning romantic love letters to pen pals, whom they hope to one day meet.

Derived from a play called Parfumerie (the two main characters work in such a shop) by Miklós László, She Loves Me has found life in many different incarnations and now comes to the capital to inspire a new generation of audiences, something it will undoubtedly do with ease thanks to its talented cast and experienced director.

That director, Matthew White, has previously been behind a wealth of shows for the Menier Chocolate Factory, including Candide, which also starred Scarlett Strallen. His credits over the years include Little Shop Of Horrors for the venue, as well as Top Hat at the Aldwych Theatre, Closer Than Ever at the Jermyn Street Theatre and The Producers on a national UK tour. As such it is clear that the classic musical is in safe hands.

Having first emerged in 1963, the musical comes from the pens of Joe Masteroff, Jerry Bock and Sheldon Harnick and features songs like Dear Friend and others.

She Loves Me is the latest in a long line of anticipated productions to take pride of place at the Menier Chocolate Factory in Southwark when the show opens on Friday 25th November 2016.
