Right in the heart of London’s West End, one of the funniest and most outrageous musicals plays at the Prince of Wales Theatre. Since 2013 it has been attracting audiences from around the world with its risqué humour, memorable songs and wonderful performances, so make sure you are among them!

The brainchild of South Park creators Trey Parker & Matt Stone alongside Avenue Q genius Robert Lopez, The Book Of Mormon has to be seen to be believed!

The Book of Mormon follows two Mormon missionaries who head out to a village in Northern Uganda with the hope of teaching them the ways of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. However, any hopes of recruiting new members to the Church will be dashed quickly when they meet the locals and realise they have their own concerns. Along the way we are given satirical look at religion.

Meanwhile there are plenty of songs that have also contributed to the show’s popularity, including Spooky Mormon Hell Dream, I Am Here for You, All American Prophet and Making Things Up Again, among others. These songs and more have put smiles on the faces of theatregoers across continents.

Since the success of the Broadway version it was inevitable that West End audiences would eventually get a look in. After all, with high profile talents working behind the scenes, numerous Tony Awards to its name, and widespread critical acclaim, London theatre audiences were going to want to know what all the fuss was about. So naturally clamoured for tickets when it opened at the Prince of Wales Theatre and this led to its numerous Laurence Olivier Awards wins in 2014.

The original show opened at the Eugene O’Neill Theatre in March 2011 and since then has been in the spotlight regularly, whilst also making its way to further theatres in the United States as part of its national tour. Now it welcomes audiences on these shores as well as it runs at the Prince of Wales Theatre between Piccadilly Circus and Leicester Square.

It will undoubtedly appeal to anyone that is a fan of South Park and Team America: World Police, both creations of Parker and Stone, or Avenue Q from Robert Lopez.

But it will also undoubtedly appeal to those looking for a memorable and stand-out West End show that will stay in the mind for years to come!

So make sure you pick up theatre tickets to the most outrageous show in town as Book Of Mormon continues to make a big impression.
