The Peacock Theatre, the West End outlet of Sadler’s Wells, presents another stand-out celebration of an international form of dance this year as Vamos Cuba makes its way back to the capital (it played Sadler’s Wells in 2016). Choreographed by the acclaimed Nilda Guerra, best known for Havana Rakatan, and directed by the renowned Cal McCrystal, responsible for a range of comedic shows during a successful career, this will be a must-see for fans great dance who want to be whisked away to the sunny climate of the Caribbean.

The show is a vibrant and spectacular one, focusing on the rush of Havana airport, with various stories play out in the terminal. A range of dance styles are then employed alongside the music of Julito Padron’s live band to take audiences on a wonderful journey as passengers come and go.

Director Cal McCrystal has had a vibrant career himself, beginning as an actor and developing into a renowned comedy director, helming many well known shows for some of the nation’s top comedians. He also worked alongside Nicholas Hytner as Associate Director of the hit National Theatre production One Man, Two Guvnors, which also had success in the West End.

The Peacock Theatre regularly welcomes international dance and has a world-class reputation. In 2017 it welcomes a range of shows alongside Vamos Cuba in the forms of Footloose and Taj Express, amongst others, and ensures that this is the best place to witness some wonderful productions.

Vamos Cuba plays at the Peacock Theatre from Tuesday 24th October 2017.
